hello my dearhearts!
"One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy.
Five for silver, six for gold, seven for a secret never to be told!"

[ Being he's the owner. Apparently. Good excuse to come in and check out the whole place in general. Not that he needs an excuse, he supposes, if he owns the place, but at least if he's got an objective, a purpose - well, at least he won't have shown up completely aimless. ]
How... How're they both doing, anyway? How's their, uh, their treatment going?

I'm sure they'll appreciate your reassurance, you do have a way with people!
Martina is taking to the treatments very well, she's nearly ready to be cleared. Amber's still got some chemical hangers-on that I'm working on, but she was a heavier user than Martina to begin with. Optimistically I'd say sometime next week.
[ Treating addictions is more complicated than making genetic changes, Haen has learned. For one thing, it's a lot slower... and she has to respect the pace at which people are fixing themselves rather than fixing them proactively, and that's been hard for her.. ]
... Is everything all right, dear? You sound like your mind is elsewhere.

At least he'll know exactly how to handle these girls. How to empathise with them. How to talk to them. He knows first-hand what addiction is like, what getting clean is like.
Her question tugs him out of his reverie. ]
—Huh? Oh. [ She can't see it, but his hand has reached up to the back of his neck, giving it an anxious rubbing squeeze. A nervous habit of his when he's uneasy. ] Yeah, um. Just— Got a few things on my mind, is all.
[ He tries to make that sound breezy. No big deal. Swiftly moving on: ]
Actually. Reason I'm calling you, though. There's gonna be a bit of a change. Like. In terms of how I do stuff. [ "Do stuff." Better explain it better than that, Pinkman. But, god, it sounds so weird to say this: ] ...Heal people.

[ She'll let that part go, for now. He isn't doing anything terribly worrisome, she just is used to him sounding less jittery. ]
Change can be good! Well, let's face it dear, change is the essential hallmark of a genessi, so it's not as though I'm one to find it unlikable.
What sort of changes in your healing?
[ She sounds curious, not suspicious. ]

That's fine dear, you can choose to apply it however you see fit. Is there something different you need me to be doing?

[ To Jesse, it's weird, anyway. Really fucking weird. Like, brand new "what the actual fuck is happening" weird. ]

Would it be easier to tell me in person?

Just not sure how many clients're gonna like a random guy kissing them to make 'em feel better. 'Caaause... I gotta kiss 'em. To heal them.
[ God, that's... a really bizarre and humiliating thing to have to say out loud. ]

[ Give her a moment. Then: ]
... yes, that would be a new method!
[ She already knows that Jesse's healing ability is a Porter-gifted power as opposed to one he arrived with naturally, so she's mulling that information over, particularly in light of Jesse's phrasing of 'gotta'. ]
Why the sudden change, dear? Also, why is the Porter so fixated on making people kiss each other to get things to work properly? It startled me too when I learned it for mine.

Okay. [ Said with relenting hesitance. Then, conceding outright: ] Look. Okay, look, I got something I need to talk to you about. About— the sudden change, and... other stuff. Rather do it in person, 'cause... I'm gonna need your help. Free this afternoon?
no subject
[ See, that was easy. ]
Would you like me to meet you somewhere?

Be here all afternoon, yo, so... no rush. Get here whenever you can.
